The Finite Element Analysis of Jaw Crusher’s Mainframe

Jul 24 2014

The jaw crusher’s mainframe bears a big impact force in the production. Its strength and stiffness have a big influence on the performance of the whole equipment. In order to improve the performance of the mainframe, we usually make the finite element analysis of it. Now let's discuss the finite element analysis of jaw crusher’s mainframe in the following parts:

1. According to the finite element analysis of jaw crusher’s mainframe by the ANSYS software, we can know that the stress on the toggle seat is very big, and the part structure of the mainframe is unreasonable, which make the weight of the whole equipment is too heavy. So we can improve it according the result of the finite element analysis.

2. According to the finite element analysis of the rack, we can accurately grasp the forces and the trends of crusher’s all parts, and get the maximum load characteristics of the frame when it is under the biggest crushing force, which not only provides an accurate theoretical model for the optimal design of jaw crusher, but also provides a basis for the improving design and theory.

3. According to the results of the finite element analysis, we can know that the front rack and rear wall’s stresses are bigger than the yield stress of the material. So in order to promise the safe production of the rack, we should strengthen the front rack and rear wall. Besides, since the stress of the frame’s sidewall is much less than the yield stress, so we can thin the sidewalls appropriately to reduce the weight of the rack, and save production costs.
