Introduction to Indirect Heat Transfer Rotary Dryer

Indirect heat transfer rotary dryer(Indirect heat transfer drum dryer) is one whose heating medium is not directly in contact with the material, and all of the heat required for drying is passed through a heat transfer wall. Indirect heated rotary dryer is divided into conventional type and steam tube depending on the heat carrier. It has been widely used in industry. Below we simply introduce the indirect heat transfer rotary dryer.

1. Applications

It is widely used in building materials, metallurgy, chemicals, industrial drying slag cement limestone, coal, slag, clay and other materials.

2. The main components

The indirect heat transfer rotary dryer is mainly formed by the rotary body, lifting plate, gear, support equipment and seals and other components.

3.Working principle

(1) Feeding: wet material from the belt conveyor or bucket elevator go into the hopper, then through feeder hopper through feed pipe into the feed end.

(2) Drying: Material from the higher end of the added heat carrier to the low-end of the cylinder and then has a counter-current contact with the material, but also with the heat carrier together flows into the cylinder. With the rotation of the drum material by gravity to run to one end to the other end. In the process of wet material moving forward, the material is dried by the indirect heating from heat medium.

(3) Discharging: the material is discharged by the belt or screw conveyor at the discharge port.
